NEW BRITAIN - For 74 years, Polumbo’s Jewelers has offered customers quality jewelry and the type of personalized service at its 438 East St. store that has kept people coming back time and time again.

“We’ve been here since 1945,” said Fred DiBattista, who took over the family business nine years ago after working there since 1964. “We’re the same people, in the same place. People trust us, that’s why they keep coming back. Our customers feel comfortable coming to our store.”

The store has been named “Best of New Britain” eight years in a row, including this year.

Polumbo’s Jewelers is the last full-service jewelry store in the city, DiBattista said. The establishment still does watch and jewelry repair and engraving on the premises, in addition to selling a complete line of gold and silver jewelry, Seiko, Pulsar and Belair watches.

You can feel confident knowing that when you entrust the professionals at Polumbo’s Jewelers with all your jewelry repairs, you’ll always receive expertly done repairs at affordable prices and completed in a timely manner, DiBattista said. “We have been servicing your jewelry needs for 74 years. Your satisfaction is what drives us to be the very best jewelry store in the New Britain community,” he added.

Polumbo’s also buys gold, sterling silver, platinum, coins, flatware and holloware. Customers can get jewelry for any special occasion, including weddings, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, retirements or any other occasion. You’ll appreciate the wide selection of premium jewelry and we have affordable prices with top notch service, DiBattista said.

“We now have five new designer lines,” DiBattista said. “Galatea sterling floral design jewelry, Nicole Barr fine enameled sterling jewelry, Frederic Duclos, a great sterling designer line. We are the exclusive dealer in Connecticut of the Sarayo Healing jewelry line, and we have a new design-your-own-wedding-ring system.”

At one time there were 12 jewelry stores in town, DiBattista said. “Because of our personalized service and excellent prices, we are still here to serve you,” he said.

DiBattista has been in the family business for more than 55 years and is not ready to retire as of yet. His daughter, Dayna, now runs the business with him.

“Dayna, Alivia and I are looking forward to 2019 and our seventy-fourth year,” he said.
