NEW BRITAIN – Focused on delivering the highest standard in care for residents, Grandview Rehabilitation and Health continues to meet and exceed the needs of every person in its care.

Located at 55 Grand Street in New Britain, the center provides an environment which empowers residents to continue to lead happy and meaningful lives. Their goal is to enable each resident to be as independent as possible and with a 24-hour nursing and highly trained rehabilitation staff, they are able to accomplish that goal.

The center provides a variety of services, including various therapies, wound care, long-term care, recreation, culture and memory. Their specialized rehabilitation program incorporates both therapy and nursing and includes physical, occupational and speech therapies. They also provide a wide range of supplementary services that are overseen by a board-certified physician of physical medicine.

The rehabilitation center also has therapy services available seven days a week.

For wound care, patients receive a comprehensive assessment upon arrival to look for any indication of a skin breakdown. Patients’ nutritional needs are examined to determine if any supplementation is needed to heal or prevent a wound from occurring. If a wound develops, the Grandview team have the expertise to address the problem and quickly begin the healing process, according to the center.

Through their long-term care program for those who require the security of 24/7 supervision, daily activities from Bingo to religious services stimulate the residents’ need for social interaction, mental and physical stimulation. They also provide dietary needs, nursing and physician services and medication management.

Memory care at Grandview is based on the abilities of each resident, focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses. Every resident in the program receives a personalized plan of care with an ongoing assessment of changing need and they have individually tailored activities scheduled for seven days a week.

“The staff was friendly and respectful. The treatment was on point. Everything was good – when I needed something they helped me in any and every way they could. If I ever need rehab again, I would return here because I will miss some very good people,” said Charlie Lopez, a patient testimonial.
