BERLIN – Portofino’s Italian Restaurant is welcoming diners into an outdoor oasis this summer.
Owner Michael Cecunjanin is working hard to provide guests with a unique and unforgettable experience both inside the dining room and outside his restaurant at 246 New Britain Rd., Kensington.
After all, the customers are the reason Portofino’s chef and kitchen staff are still able to continue crafting the delectable cuisine from Northern and Southern Italy that made their restaurant famous and reputable throughout Connecticut. Even after the covid-19 pandemic devastated the food service industry and the economic climate.
“We’ve just been able to survive thanks to the support from customers,” Cecunjanin told the Herald this week. “Our regular customers have continued supporting us and we thank them. They really saved us and helped us stay in business.”
A large tent now greets visitors behind the restaurant, set up with tables fit for a party or a simple dinner under the moonlight.
In addition to indoor and outdoor dining, Portofino’s is also offering a special takeout menu. Visit portofinosrestaurnt.com to check it out.
A seasonal summer menu features all your favorite warm weather cocktails, from blueberry lemonade to mojitos and fruit martinis. Mocktails are also available.
The dinner menu features favorites like the hot and cold antipasto, eggplant lasagna, clams casino, fettucine carbonara and a variety of veal chicken, steak and seafood specialties.
Lastly, Cecunjanin can’t help but offer more gratitude to the people who love Portofino’s Restaurant.
“Thank you to everyone single customer who comes in,” he said. “Especially this year when it was difficult for every restaurant, you supported us.”
