NEW BRITAIN – A new baby, an anniversary, a birthday or just because: any occasion is deserving of a hand-picked bouquet from the New Britain Flower Shop.

Located in the heart of Little Poland, at 141 Broad St., is the area’s premier florist.

Owner Nick Erlacher has a passion for creating exquisite floral arrangements, hand-tied bouquets and beautiful gift baskets.

Erlacher, who won Mr. Polonia Connecticut in 2015, created the floral arrangements for a 200-person wedding when he was just 17 years old. The third-generation Polish-American dreamed of owning his own floral shop since he was a child. His dreams came true in early 2019, when he purchased the business, formerly JE Flower Shop, from the previous owner.

When he first took over the shop, Erlacher told the Herald there was no place he’d rather own a business than in New Britain’s iconic Little Poland neighborhood.

“It makes me happy to be able to come to a place that I love so much because I’m proud of my Polish heritage,” Erlacher said. “It makes me happy to be able to get really creative and unique and providing a service for somebody’s birthday, anniversary or a special happy occasion. But it also gives me pride to be able to comfort somebody in need during a funeral and making something that’s really unique and beautiful to honor somebody’s loved one.”

He renovated the business’s façade to replicate a quaint European garden.

The New Britain Flower Shop is known for having excellent customer service and offering free floral consultation and same-day deliveries.

Are you unsure of which blooms are ideal for your special occasion? The Florist’s Choice Bouquet always pleases.

In addition to stunning blooms, the New Britain Flower Shop has everything you need for the perfect gift: lanterns, candles, baskets and other merchandise.
