NEW BRITAIN - Stanley Black & Decker announced Thursday the grand opening of its Stanley Security North America headquarters in Fishers, Ind.
The 80,000-square-foot facility, with a price tag of $16 million, will house 350 employees from the Greater Indianapolis area.
“Today is an important milestone in the continued growth and evolution of our Security business and we are excited to bring our employees together here in one location in Indiana, where we have maintained a strong presence for nearly two decades,” said President and CEO of Stanley Black & Decker, Jim Loree. “This state-of-the-art headquarters will provide a powerful new springboard from which to grow the Security business and develop the innovative security technologies of the future.
Stanley Security is a division of Stanley Black & Decker focused on providing electronic security solutions for consumers of all needs.
Its products and services are broken into five areas: Stanley Access Technologies, Mechanical Access Solutions, Convergent Security Solutions, AeroScout and Stanley PAC. It is $2 billion industry with more than 9,000 employees.
Stanley Access Technologies focuses on automatic and manual slide and swing doors, revolving doors, sensors and controls, and service.
Mechanical Access Solutions includes various locks, hardware, accessories and control systems for homes and businesses. Convergent Security Solutions are monitoring, detection and surveillance software.
AeroScout offers security solutions for industry users including health care, education and retail, whileStanley PAC provides electronic card access controls into entrance points.
The president of Stanley Security North America, Robert Raff, said the new headquarters will serve two purposes.
“First, it is a destination for any customer who wants to see the very latest technology and innovation in the security industry, and secondly, it is a next-generation workplace for those who are passionately driven to help make the world safer,” he said.
Stanley Black & Decker’s main headquarter is in New Britain, where it was founded in 1843 as The Stanley Works.
Aside from providing security products and locks, the company is also a manufacturer of industrial tools and household hardware.
