BERLIN - A gas leak closed Four Rod Road between Camels Back Road and Burnham Street Tuesday morning.

The leak stemmed from construction crews working on sidewalk repairs and hitting a house gas line, Deputy Police Chief John Klett said.

Police responded to the call at 7:38 a.m., Klett said. All four fire companies in town, Berlin, Kensington, South Kensington and East Berlin responded, retired Fire Chief Jim Simmons said.

The road was blocked off until 10 p.m. once Connect Natural Gas resolved the issue, Klett said.

There were no injuries reported.
