New Britain police investigating moped crash that injured one

NEW BRITAIN – A man was seriously injured in a moped verses car accident at the intersection of Stanley Street and Alexander Road Monday.

The 18-year-old male from Farmington who was driving the moped suffered serious, but not life threatening injuries in the crash which occurred around 4:30 p.m., police said. He was taken to an area hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The 23-year-old male New Britain resident who was driving the motor vehicle that collided with the moped was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The intersection was closed for a period of time as the New Britain Police Traffic Safety Bureau investigated the crash. No charges have been filed, police said. The bureau is still investigating and is asking anyone with information or who may have information or who may have witnessed the crash to call Sgt. Steven King at 860-826-3071.
