SOUTHINGTON - Southington Bread for Life invites the community to join in the annual “Soup Nite” fundraiser Oct. 18 at Southington High School.

The event will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the school, at 720 Pleasant St.

Soup Nite features several soups from local restaurants. There will also be a raffle and a few surprises.

All proceeds will benefit Bread for Life, Southington’s soup kitchen.

Bread for Life serves hot lunch to clients in its new facility on 31 Vermont Ave. It also prepares and delivers a hot lunch and bag dinner to the homebound and delivers group lunch to seniors living in Southington Housing Authority apartments.

It also runs a summer lunch program for children who receive free lunch during the school year.

Tickets are available at the door for $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years old.

Bread for Life will also be accepting nonperishable food items to help feed the hungry.
