NEW BRITAIN - Last month, the Board of Education voted to extend Superintendent Nancy Sarra’s contract through June 30, 2020.

According to the school district, Sarra offered to take a pay freeze over the next two years and will be paid $170,850 during that time.

Sarra will be paid $174,267 in fiscal year 2020.

“Superintendent Sarra has done a tremendous job in her first year as superintendent, navigating many obstacles while working to revamp and restructure the school district,” said Board of Education President Nicholas Mercier. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far and look forward to many more years serving the students and families of New Britain.”

Under Connecticut General Statues, superintendent contracts can have a maximum term of three years.
