CHESHIRE - Admitted serial killer William Devin Howell was found with a weapon in his cell, according to sources.
State Department of Correction officials did not confirm the report Wednesday night.
Howell is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 17 in the deaths of six people who disappeared in 2003. Their bodies were found behind a Hartford Road, New Britain, strip mall in 2007 and 2015.
Howell pleaded guilty to six counts of murder weeks ago. He is facing a 360-year prison sentence for the murders.
He is currently serving a 15-year sentence in the death of seventh person who also disappeared in 2003.
Howell is being held at the Cheshire Correctional Institution, according to the correction department’s website.
