NEW BRITAIN – The Friendship Center’s first annual “Souper Bowl” will be held Wednesday at E.C. Goodwin Technical High School Cafeteria.
During the event guests will pick out and purchase one of hundreds of handmade bowls to be filled with their choice of soup, stew or chili from more than a dozen area restaurants. Guest can try as many soups as they wish. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Friendship Center’s Community Kitchen which feeds about 200 people a day for lunch Monday through Friday. The event is designed to bring awareness to the issue of hunger. The soups, stews or chilis will be judged by a panel of “distinguished” judges.
The Souper Bowl runs from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at E.C. Goodwin High School Cafeteria at 735 Slater Road.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door or are available online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/soup-er-bowl-empty-bowl-event-tickets-41716123047 or through the Friendship Center Communications Department.
