HARTFORD - Why feel rushed at a hectic restaurant on Valentine’s Day when you can enjoy a romantic dinner on the Saturday before? The Polish National Home is hosting a pre-Valentine’s Day five-course prix fixe dinner in an intimate setting on Feb. 10.
The PNH is taking reservations now for the evening, which costs $45 per person, including tax and gratuity.
The price includes a bottle of wine for the couple; an aperitif, salad; cup of soup, with a choice of mushroom or sauerkraut; mini potato pancakes topped with smoked salmon or two pierogi; a choice of prime rib roasted salmon for the entrée; and a choice of house-made creme brulée, or house-made nalesniki (crepes) with strawberry sauce for dessert.
After dinner, guests are invited to enjoy the PNH’s new Game Room, which will be available only for Pre-Valentine’s Dinner couples that night.
Seating is limited, so visit polishhomect.org for the online reservation form. Reservation times are available at half-hour intervals from 6 to 8 p.m., to maintain an ambiance of intimacy.
When making a reservation, couples can also request “their song” and PNH promises to do its best to play it during the evening.
After making a reservation, someone from PNH will call to secure payment and confirm the requested reservation time.
PNH is at 60 Charter Oak Ave., Hartford. It has plenty of free parking onsite as well as ample free street parking nearby. The non-profit, social club is especially known for its authentic Polish food, but also features American and other international dishes.
