NEW BRITAIN – Little creatures and creature comforts can now be found at a new store on Main Street.

Little Pets World recently opened at 50 Main St., across from CTown Supermarket.

The new store is owned by Ashley Robles and her husband Alex Correa. Robles said she has always had a passion for pets and had a number of pets while she was growing up. This inspired and motivated her to open her own pet retail establishment.

Robles said the shop didn’t require too many renovations to accommodate small pets and pet supplies. Even though the space is small, Robles said she can order almost anything a customer might be looking for.

One of Robles’ future goals is to expand her business. She wants to have a store where she can have a fish room, a reptile room and a room for pet grooming.

Little Pets World currently sells birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals like rabbits and hamsters. The store also offers saltwater and freshwater tank setups, dog and cat food and other supplies.

Robles plans to run the store herself and said she is committed to always offering fair prices and good customer service.

Robles supports organizations like the Kado Pet Foundation to help seniors and low-income individuals care for their pets. She is also doing a special collection for food and veterinary care.

Little Pets World is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on weekends from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
