Vietnam-era veterans eligible for lapel pins

NEW BRITAIN - U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty’s office is looking for Vietnam War-era veterans to participate in a ceremony later this summer.

The Vietnam War Commemoration and Pinning Ceremony is set for Sept. 8, and requests for 50th anniversary lapel pins are now being accepted.

The event is being hosted in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Defense.

To recieve a pin, interested applicants must submit a copy of their DD214 document and privacy release/media release form by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24.

To qualify for a pin, a veteran must have served active duty in the U.S. armed forces at any time between Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of location.
