NEW BRITAIN – Residents hoping to get involved in the city have their opportunity right now since Mayor Erin Stewart is looking for residents interested in serving on a board of commission.

There are openings on the following boards and commissions: the Commission on Aging; the Ethics Commission; Ordinance Board of Appeals; the Parks & Recreation Commission; the City Plan Commission; Commission on Community and Neighborhood Development; Board of Health; Commission on Persons with Disabilities; and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

“Participating on a board or commission is a great way to get involved in our community,” Stewart said when announcing the openings. “It takes a team of dedicated volunteers to keep our City moving forward. There are a variety of boards and commissions for a multitude of professional backgrounds. I invite all interested residents to join my team: Please send us your interest letters! Our community is only as strong as those who are willing to step up and be a part of our success.”

Those interested must be at least 18 years old, a resident of New Britain and a registered voter in the city.

Interested individuals should send a letter of interest by email to Paul Amarone at Paul.Amarone@newbritainct.gov or by mail at Paul Amarone, c/o Mayor’s Office, 27 West Main St., New Britain, CT 06051.
