The application deadline for most of these scholarships are March 31 and students and their parents are encouraged to apply promptly.
Scholarships are available to high school seniors in New Britain, Berlin, Plainville and Southington. Select scholarships are available to students in Farmington, Newington and Wethersfield.
Certain scholarships are also available to local students already enrolled in higher education.
Last year, the Community Foundation awarded 74 scholarships from over 40 separate donor-established funds, totaling approximately $224,000.
“In 2018 we awarded the largest amount of scholarship dollars in our history,” said foundation President David Obedzinski, “and we are on track to break that record in 2019 due to great applicants and generous donors who have established scholarships with us.”
