WATERBURY - Two people who were found in a Connecticut reservoir died after being transported to a local hospital, according to authorities.

Two men fell off an air mattress being used as a flotation device into the East Mountain Reservoir on Tuesday, the Republican-American reported.

The East Mountain Reservoir is owned by Waterbury but does not have any signs to ward off trespassers.

The two men, 24 and 17, were transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the men pending notifying the families.

Waterbury police received a report about 6:40 p.m. that the pair had fallen into the water. Divers found the two in the water around 8:30 p.m.
