NEW BRITAIN - The New Britain Bees almost allowed the Lancaster Barnstormers to rally for the win Tuesday night.

But in the end, they did just enough for the 7-6 victory.

Jonathan Griffin had the big day for the Bees offensively. He finished with three RBI on two hits. Connor Bierfeldt drove in two runs of his own.

Michael Crouse went 2-for-4 and scored a run. He also drew a walk. Jamar Walton scored twice and drove in a run. He had two hits.

Starting pitcher Nick Greenwood allowed three earned runs in his five innings pitched.

In relief of Greenwood, Brandon Fry and Shawn Gilblair each allowed an earned run. Fry gave up a run in the seventh inning while Gilblair allowed a run in the ninth but still earned the save.

The offense from the Bees was enough to beat the Barnstormers and the Bees will face Lancaster again tonight. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
