BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Connor Bierfeldt hit his 22nd home run of the season, but it isn’t enough as the New Britain Bees fell 7-5 against the Somerset Patriots on Wednesday.

It was a slow start for both teams until the third inning. Bierfeldt hit a homer, but the Patriots answered right back. An RBI single from Somerset’s David Vidal tied the game at one.

Vidal was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning, sending Aharon Eggleston to home plate. Somerset had taken a lead that they never looked back on.

The Patriots made three runs in the fifth inning, and while the Bees tried to come back in the sixth, they had no chance.

Somerset and New Britain will meet again today at 6:35 p.m.
