HARTFORD – A trio of young guns on the PGA Tour committed to play at this summer’s Traveler’s Championship on Wednesday in Abraham Ancer, Max Homa and Cameron Smith.

The three players have combined for five victories throughout their careers, with two occurring this season.

“It’s been great to see Abraham, Max and Cameron establish themselves on the PGA TOUR with solid finishes and victories,” Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube said. “They are wonderful additions to our player field, which keeps getting better.”

Homa took his second career win at The Genesis Invitational in February while Smith and fellow Travelers commit Marc Leishman shared the title at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in April.

Ancer has played well this year, with three consecutive top-10 finishes on Tour, including a tie for eighth at last weekend’s PGA Championship, good for his best finish in a major championship.

The current No. 19-ranked golfer in the world, Ancer will be making his fifth start at the Travelers this year, with his best outing coming in 2019 when he tied for eighth place.

A former NCAA champion at California, Homa has hovered around the top this season as well, with three top-10 finishes to his name. Homa’s first victory came in 2019 at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Homa will be making is fourth appearance in the Nutmeg State this summer.

Smith, who hails from Australia, has three wins on his PGA resume, plus two victories at the Australian PGA Championships in 2017 and 2018.

A member of the Presidents Cup in 2019, Smith most notably tied for second place at the 2020 Masters, trailing winner Dustin Johnson.

“All three of these players have been to our tournament before, and we appreciate them adding the Travelers Championship to their schedules,” Andy Bessette, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Travelers said. “Our fans enjoy watching the best young players in golf, and this year’s tournament will feature many of them, including Abraham, Max and Cameron.”

Ancer, Homa and Smith join Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, Paul Casey, Marc Leishman, Justin Rose, Bubba Watson and defending champion Dustin Johnson in this year’s field. The 2021 championship will be held June 21-27 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.
