Registration still open for 2021 Nutmeg Games

Registration is still open to join the 31st annual Nutmeg games, hosted by the city of New Britain.

The first events to start the games were in the shooting category, which have since concluded. The next individual event will be next Saturday (June 5) in cycling. Registration to join is still open, and more information can be found on nutmegstategames.org regarding specific details, directions and scheduling across all events.

Following cycling will be archery on June 12, which has closed its registrations. Two openings are available at the Club Compound Division. Those interested will need to contact the office directly (contact is at the end of the article).

Figure skating will take place on July 10-11, gymnastics will take place July 10 and golf will happen July 11. Track and field will hold a meet July 10, with a showcase following the next day. Wrestling will meet July 25.

The final day for individual events will be pickleball, which will run multiple days in late July, going from July 30 into August 1. Fencing will also be August 1, in a one-day event.

Team events will be held through the month of July, with girls soccer starting July 15-18. Fast pitch softball for 12 and 14 under teams will run from July 17-18 while the 16 and 18 under teams will play July 24-25.

The baseball games will be played July 26 to August 1 for 10 and 12 under teams. For the 13’s, 15 and 18 under, their games will be July 19-25.

Seven-on-seven field hockey will be July 16-18, boys ice hockey will be July 19-25, lacrosse will be July 19-25, girls lacrosse will be July 30 to August 1 and a football showcase will be June 26

To reserve a spot for a team, coaches need to come up with a team name, age group and gender. Coaches will also need to provide an email and phone number.
