The 2021 Wayton Open kicks off in just over three weeks with its registration closing July 7th.

The tennis tournament will guarantee a free t-shirt to the first 100 entrants with all proceeds benefiting the One More Dog Rescue. To those interested in signing up, they are urged to go to waytonopen.com before the registration date comes.

There are 14 divisions available to join. Divisions include separate A and B divisions for men’s singles and doubles, mixed A and B doubles, women’s singles and doubles and a men’s 45-plus singles group.

High school-aged entrants can enter the boys and girls singles or doubles. There is also a mixed doubles division.

All matches will be played at Southington High School from July 10-18.

Tournament guidelines include the need to be available for weekends and some weekday evening times, pending advancing past the first round.

No matches will go later than Championship Sunday, unless inclement weather postpones them. They will be played the following day in the evening if needed.

All matches must play out in the deciding set with no tie breakers, regardless of the round. No match times can be moved. Those entered in multiple divisions must be prepared to play multiple times in the same day.

There will be no line judges, and players will be expected to call points.
