NEW BRITAIN -- The Nutmeg State Games boys soccer and boys lacrosse tournaments wrapped up this past weekend with numerous gold medals awarded.
Bristol based Ajax took the gold medal in the under-11 soccer tournament with a 3-0 victory over the Hartford Hellions. Ajax won every game it played and allowed just one goal in four games played. West Hartford SC won the bronze medal game over New Milford, 3-1.
In the under-12 division, Pequenos Guerreros beat Nirvana360 4-2 in penalty kicks to win gold. Ajax grabbed third place, beating the Green Warriors, 1-0.
The under-14 division saw ASF finish first with a 1-0 win against CCSA and the Green Warriors got bronze.
Ajax’s under-16 team won gold with a 2-0 win over the Hartford Hellions and Forza beat the Green Warriors, 3-2.
Lastly, following a tie in its first round-robin game, Norwalk went undefeated en route to the gold in the under-18 division with a 3-0 win over Waterbury FC. The bronze medal game featured the Hartford Hellions and the Brookfield Bobcats with the Hellions taking the 5-0 victory.
In lacrosse, the CT Oilers won the under-12 division, beating the CT Titans, 11-5. Mattabassett earned the bronze medal.
Pro Lacrosse took the gold in the under-14 division, beating the CT Titans in all three games of the two-team competition.
In the under-18 division, the Stonington Seals finished first after a 13-7 win over Mattabassett in the gold medal game. The Seals were the only team among the six competing that finished 5-0 in the tournament.
The Summer Blues beat Pro Lacrosse/Hall HS, 9-5, to claim the bronze medal, while Pro Lax 15U beat Pro Lax 14U in the Pro Lacrosse Gold Medal Game, 5-3.
