Roundup: Goodwin Tech remains undefeated with victory over Prince Tech

Goodwin Tech improved its winning record to 5-0 with a victory Wednesday night against Prince Tech.

The Gladiators outscored Prince 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-18).

Leina Rivera had 11 service points, five aces and nine kills; Tanija Russell had six service points, three aces, two kills and two blocks; Joarielys Pino had 11 service points and seven aces; and Tiana Rodriquez had 16 assists.

Goodwin Tech looks to continue shutting out its opponents in its next game, against Cheney Tech.

Innovation’s girls volleyball team had a close match against Canton, winning 3-2 (25-21,20-25,25-15,14-25, 15-11).

Bailee Nardi had eight kills, Imani Rosado had 18 assists, Danelys Baez-Arroyo had six digs and Aliyah Merced had six kills.

Berlin girls volleyball fell short against South Windsor on Wednesday night, 3-2 (25-22, 25-16, 23-25, 20-25,18-16).

Cara Wade had 16 kills, four blocks and two aces. The Redcoats are looking to improve as the season continues.
