SOUTHINGTON - The Southington girls volleyball team improved to 15-2 for the season with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-15) victory at home over Pomperaug on Wednesday evening.
Leading Southington in the match were Hannah Zelina (8 kills), Sarah Myrick (8 kills), Lynsey Danko (9 digs), Nolyn Allen (7 digs), Steph Zera (28 assists) and Haley Larrabee (4 aces).
Pomperaug fell to 13-5 overall.
Goodwin Tech 3, O’Brien Tech 0: The Gladiators swept to a 25-12, 25-14, 25-13 victory on Senior Night, improving to 16-3 for the season.
O’Brien Tech fell to 0-19.
Leading Goodwin Tech were Lenia Rivera (18 service points, 13 aces, 2 assists, 5 digs, 11 kills), Tanija Russell (10 service points, 7 aces, 4 kills, 1 block assist) and Tirana Rodriquez (16 assists).
“Serving was on point today and we did many good things while committing very few errors,” coach Paul Soucy reported.
Innovation 7, Bassick 1: Wrapping up its regular season, Innovation cruised to a victory at home to improve to 10-4-2.
Natalia Mularzuk scored three goals for the home team, while Kelsey Walicki had two and Melinda Knopf and Stefany Ferguson netted one each. Ferguson and Mularzuk also had assists.
Latonya Rush scored for Bassick (1-9).
In net for Innovation, Lianna Giles made two saves and Malena VanBeveren had one. Medjine LaPointe stopped three shots for Bassick.
