Goodwin Tech girls volleyball hold off Wilcox Tech to reach CTC Tournament final

MERIDEN - The Goodwin Tech girls volleyball team is going to be playing for its conference title.

The Gladiators survived a late rally from Wilcox Tech to win their semifinal matchup in the CTC Tournament 3-2 Thursday night. Goodwin Tech will play Prince Tech for the conference championship on Saturday night at 6 p.m. at the University of St. Joseph.

After winning their first two sets 25-18 and 25-12, the Gladiators dropped the next two 25-18 and 25-16 before holding off Wilcox Tech 15-3 to win the fifth and final set.

Tabetha Trammell (18 service points, 6 aces), Nyssa Foster (6 blocks), Aiyana Montes (7 service points, 3 kills, 10 assists) and Korina Trammell (13 service points, 5 aces) were standouts for Goodwin Tech, which won its 18th game of the season.
