Sports Roundup: Innovation boys basketball closes season with win, New Britain girls basketball bounced from playoffs

NEW BRITAIN - The Innovation boys basketball team finished out its regular season schedule with a 65-53 win over Achievement First. The Ravens finish with a 6-14 record but won three of their final four games.

Innovation was leading by just one point at halftime but used a 24 points third quarter to pull away. Jonel Dominique had a team-high 19 points in the game and was also a pest on defense as he accrued five steals.

Elijah Pouncey also had a big game for Innovation as he had 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Ramiesh Bogle and Armoni Alonso were also noteable in the winning effort as they scored 10 and eight points respectively.

Achievement First was led by Malik Armour who had a game-high 20 points.


Manchester 77, New Britain 73: The New Britain girls basketball team’s season came to a close as it lost its qualifying game to Manchester on Thursday night. The Hurricanes hosted the game, which was the opener of the Class LL tournament. New Britain finishes the season with a record of 9-12.
