Sports Roundup: Newington boys soccer cruises past Rocky Hill

NEWINGTON - The Newington boys soccer team picked up a 3-1 victory over visiting Rocky Hill on Friday at Clem Lemire Field, improving to 5-8-1 for the season.

Andrew Barresi, Hermish Adarkwah and Mike Ganley scored the goals for the Indians, with Jack Thurz scoring for the Terriers.

Newington goalkeeper Jack DeGirolamo made nine saves, while Christopher Conlan stopped seven shots for Rocky Hill.


Platt 3, New Britain 1: The Hurricanes were defeated at home, 21-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-22, wrapping up the regular season 13-7.

For New Britain, Charliann Pedraza had 22 digs and Nelanie Velez had 16 assists.

Platt wrapped up its regular season 10-8.

The Hurricanes will play in the CCC Tournament beginning on Monday.

Innovation 3, University 1: The Ravens wrapped up their regular season with a 17-3 mark after a 25-23, 10-25, 25-20, 25-12 victory in Hartford.

For Innovation, Bailee Nardi had 12 kills, Molly Corcoran had 20 assists and Danelys Baez-Arroyo had nine aces.
