Sports Roundup: Innovation girls basketball uses defense to pick up win over Prince Tech

The Innovation girls basketball team had a consistent four-quarter effort Wednesday night with double digit point totals in each quarter.

With double digit point totals in each quarter the Ravens came out on top, beating Prince Tech 45-36 after holding their opponent to four points in a big defensive second quarter effort.

Aryanna Townsend led the way in victory in her best overall performance of the season with 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and 13 rebounds.

With the win, Innovation moved to 6-7 on the season.


Sheehan 5, Newington-Berlin 3: The Indians received a pair of goals from Ethan Ranger and also had a goal by Mark Sweitzer.

Dave Nicks had 16 saves for Newington-Berlin and Adam Belair had a pair of saves.


New Britain 68, Hall 18: The New Britain wrestling team defeated Hall in a big performance.

For the Hurricanes, Elijah Watson, Joshua Martinez and Elijah Torres all won.

Watson improved to 27-2 on the season and New Britain improved to 17-8 and 3-1 in-conference.

The Hurricanes will host Farmington next Wednesday night on senior night.
