BRISTOL – Bristol Eastern girls volleyball shut out New Britain Friday night, winning 3-0.

Eastern on the sets 25-18, 25-22 and 25-20.

Hannah Webber had 22 kills with three blocks in the win for Eastern. Abby Jones chipped in 31 assists with five digs and an ace from serve.

Alex Shorrette had three kills and two aces for Eastern.

New Britain stats were unavailable.

Valley Regional 3, Innovation 0: Innovation girls volleyball was blanked Friday night by Valley Regional, losing 3-0.

Valley took the sets 25-13, 25-7 and 25-20.

Ciara Cardona had eight digs, matching the total from Tynise Rose. Cardona had four assists and Rose had four kills.

Patrice Broughton had five digs and three kills.

“Despite the sweep, (we) had some strong moments as (we) stepped out of conference against their Shoreline opponent to end the regular season,” said Innovation coach Matthew Lance. “Ciara Cardona played the best defense of her career, coming up with some spectacular digs, and Patrice was also very active at the net, getting her fingertips on many Valley swings.”

Boys soccer

Innovation 3, CLHS 1: Innovation boys soccer won Friday night, taking down CLHS 3-1.

Waseem Alsafari, Yosef Alsafari, Malachi Morales and Muhammad Hussein each scored in the win for the Ravens.

In goal, Giancarlo Posadas and Arnez Falcon made four and five stops, respectively.
