To the Editor:

I represent a group of six workers at a grocery in New Haven who were illegally underpaid.

In 2015, my clients talked about what happened to them with state Rep. Peter Tercyak (New Britain). He then led a successful fight in the legislature to enact stricter penalties for businesses which don’t pay minimum wage or overtime to their employees.

I have good news for Rep. Tercyak: My clients received a court judgment of $175,000, and the judge relied on the law he helped change.

Thank you for doing the right thing, Rep. Tercyak.
