To the Editor:
I am writing to support Robert Ciotto’s candidacy for the Town Council in Plainville. Robert has lived in Plainville for over 22 years, raising his children and becoming actively involved with youth sports. Robert coached both Plainville Little League and Plainville soccer. He always supports the best interest of our youth. He has been active in many Board of Education and town subcommittees such as the building committee for Linden Street School and Plainville High School renovations, president of the PAC, served on two principal hiring committees, and served on the Policy and Procedure Committee for the board.
Robert is no stranger to the Town Council and previously served six years from 2005-2011. He returned in February 2017 to fill a vacancy.
During his time on the council, he was instrumental in appointing the new police chief, implementing town-wide automated trash and single-stream recycling collection program, the purchase of Robertson Airport, and the senior center expansion.
He has worked on several green initiatives such as passing the resolution in support of municipal energy from Clean Energy, and the implementation of solar roofs at Plainville High, Linden, and Toffolon schools. In addition to the council, he was a commissioner on the Inlands Wetlands Commission and was the vice chairman since 2013.
Robert serves our community with the best interest of its citizens at heart. He is an active listener and makes a point to gather all of the information in order to make the best-informed decisions for the citizens of Plainville.
I fully support Robert Ciotto for re-election to the town council. I urge you to vote for Robert on Nov. 7.
