To the Editor,
The slogans on Republican campaign signs in Berlin have me wondering.
How can they justify the sign that says “don’t let the Democrats bankrupt” when Republicans raised taxes two years in a row after campaigning in 2015 to lower taxes?
Signs that say “support our schools” and “we are your voice” represent the hypocrisy of Republican town councilors who asked Berlin voters if the Board of Education budget was too high or too low, then ignored the result when voters said it was too low.
And how do you interpret the Republican slogan of “effective responsible leadership,” when they’ve provided none of the three? It requires a sense of humor - or at best - a strong stomach.
