To The Editor,
The attempt of former BOE Commissioner Genard Dolan to impugn my integrity in his Feb. 28 letter to the editor, is a disappointing development. It appears that after losing his base of support, then his office, Mr. Dolan has now lost his mind as well.
After reading quotes I’d made in the Feb. 26 Bristol Press calling the idea of arming teachers preposterous (an idea roundly rebuked by numerous governors, police, and military personnel) Mr. Dolan then goes on to call me a coward who won’t defend students during an attack and implies I must be incompetent with a firearm.
Reading my words and coming to that conclusion is akin to adding two plus two and getting six. He’s projecting his own agenda and paranoia.
Like all Bristol teachers, I show up unarmed everyday, and will do whatever is necessary to protect students from bodily harm, whatever form that comes in.
And Mr. Dolan, as for the claim that I must be incompetent with a firearm, I’m someone who is an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment, but one who believes it doesn’t apply to military weaponry, I will meet you at the firing range anytime and we can see who shoots straighter. Loser buys dinner, and then we can discuss solutions to this epidemic like rationale people.
