YOUR VIEW: There are plenty of bullies in politics

To The Editor:

Bullying: I know this is a subject that is brought up frequently in our schools to teach our children to respect each other. That each of us are unique, special and worthy of respect.

Teaching them what our parents use to say to us, treat others as you would like to be treated. I think the adult generation needs to take this class again because from what I hear and see on the news, it is very disheartening what is going on in our society today.

Watching people being harassed into leaving restaurants because of their political views. People demonstrating violently against people who have different views or opinions.

I don’t know about you, but I would call that BULLYING on an adult stage. I would like to know where are the role models? Where are the politicans to condemn this kind of behavior. We should be making our point at the polls.

If it doesn’t turn out the way you voted, that doesn’t mean you have the right to go around getting into people’s faces, screaming, harassing and violently protesting.

What has happened to our society where we can no longer have a different opinion then our neighbors and discuss them without being bullied or attacked. This needs to stop. We are not teaching our children what we preach.

Be afraid because this tactic is not only happening on the political stage, it is seeping into every crevice of our life.
