To The Editor:
Jim Marocchini is the most suitable candidate for the position of Mayor for the Town of Newington. He has the necessary personal characteristics to move the town forward. Jim is intelligent, personable and willing to work with people across the aisle, but most of all he has the determination and the will to move projects ahead. His persistence along with other members of the Town Hall Building Committee was able to overcome many of the project’s obstacles. He is also a strong advocate for the Transit Village Design District, which would enable the town to develop around the new train station. Jim, being aware of rising costs and decreasing revenue streams, believes that TVDD would enhance our tax base. Along with Council Candidates Carol Anest, Sharon Braverman, Chris Miner, Diana Serra, Tim Zapatka, Jim will have the necessary support to move Newington forward into the next decade.
The Democrats also have a strong slate running for the board of education. They include Michael Branda, Emily Guion, Sam Sharma, Cindy Stamm and Jessica Weaver. There is a lot of creative talent in this group and I am sure they will provide Newington students the necessary programs to fulfill their future endeavors.
So, on November 5, please consider a vote for Jim Marocchini and the entire Democratic team. Thank you.
