To The Editor:

New Britain is one of the most diverse communities in the state, with an estimated 75,000 individuals living in just over 13 square miles. We have families of different races, socio-economic statuses, genders and sexual orientations all striving to live by our city’s unofficial motto of “Love Wins.” While we all come from different backgrounds, we all share one overarching attitude and belief - We all want to make New Britain the best it can be!

Back in 2017 outside the Stonewall Inn, New Britain Pride was conceived with this simple concept: making our town a better and more accepting place to live, work, and grow. Our organization at its core focuses on spreading understanding for the LGBTQ+ community through pride celebrations, advocacy and education in a non-partisan way.

We want to encourage everyone to get involved in our community - check out our Facebook page, @NewBritainPride and come out to one of our meetings – our next meeting is Jan. 29, 2019. We alternate our meetings between the city hall and various establishments around the city! Be sure to direct message us if you have any questions. Remember, you can only help improve our city if you step up and are engaged.
