To the Editor:
New Britain will be a better place to live over the next two years if it elects a Common Council committed to addressing public health, budget, environmental and economic issues in a cooperative, bipartisan way. That's why I support the five at large endorsed candidates for City Council on Row A in the Democratic Primary on Sept. 14.
Chris Anderson, Violette Jimenez Sims, Amy Labas, Richard Reyes and Francisco Santiago come from diverse backgrounds and possess extraordinary work and life experiences that are needed to govern the city fairly and effectively. Electing these five Democrats will bring positive changes to the Council where the current Republican members, forsaking their legislative responsibilities on issue after issue, have been rubber stamps to a Mayor whose partisanship, indifference to the pandemic and budgets that exclude public education are detrimental to a responsive municipal government that serves all city residents.
Support for the Row A slate can be an important first step in bringing progressive policies and accountability to City Hall in November. Vote Primary Day September 14th.
