To the Editor:

On behalf of my mother, Jeanine Soychak, who lives in New Britain and is 92 years young, I want to thank the mayor, Erin Stewart and her crew for helping clean up leaves/debris from her yard and the gutter drains around her house a few weeks back.

My mother had written a letter to the mayor prior to that expressing support for her but also telling her how difficult it was to get people to do minor repairs and cleanup work around her yard. To my mother’s surprise a few weeks after she sent the letter, Erin and her crew showed up and helped with work around the house.

Jeanine, my mother, wanted to say how proud she is of having a mayor like Erin Stewart that is a wonderful human being who cares about the people in New Britain. With so much divisiveness in politics today, Erin Stewart is an example of how we can come together to help one another during this holiday season.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
