To the Editor:

Without even saying goodbye or thank you for 45 years of service to the children of Berlin, Bill Petit was removed from his position of president of the Berlin Little League.

Coach, Manager, Umpire, President, Bill was instrumental in the success of Berlin Little League for decades. When one thinks of Berlin baseball, the names of Paul Baretta, Coach Leo Veleas, Ted Swanson, Eddie Giana, and Pete Garrison come to mind along with Bill Petit.

This foundation allowed our youth to experience success at all levels from Little League Regional play to Babe Ruth World Series and state championships.

Maybe the “new” administration should have considered to keep Bill on if not just for his knowledge. I double they will be there in 2067.

Thank you, Bill, for all you did for the youth of Berlin.
