NEW BRITAIN - About four years ago, the Arch Street Pharmacy opened up its shop at 333 Arch St. due its convenient proximity to the Hospital of Central Connecticut.
Since its opening, the pharmacy has remained committed to service with quality work by helping multiple customers at a time with individual attention and in an efficient manner.
“When people are sick, they want to go to the hospital and get a prescription and not wait for their prescription to be filled,” said manager Chitti Babu Anne. “Our turnover is about 5 to 10 minutes.”
The pharmacy not only assesses, prepares and provides counsel on prescription medications, but can also train customers on how to use medical devices such as glucose meters.
The pharmacy can also help choose appropriate over-the-counter medications, which vitamins and herbs to use, and provide advice on common ailments and various health topics.
“In simple, we try to provide you quality and efficient service,” Babu Anne said.
Arch Street Pharmacy also offers customized, multi-dose packaging, including a new Dispill or blister package, which organizes daily prescriptions and vitamins into a pouch that can be printed with the names of all the medications on top. The time of day at which they should be taken can also be printed on top.
“Every day we are trying to help the clients in a better way,” said Babu Anne.
Arch Street Pharmacy sets itself apart by providing affordable alternatives to the high cost of prescription medications, as well as making it more convenient for customers when it comes to filling their prescriptions. The pharmacy provides free prescription pick-up and delivery “right to your doorstep.”
Accepting most insurance types, the pharmacy also provides durable medical equipment and has a staff member who speaks Spanish if needed.
The pharmacy also carries basic household products, such as paper towels and cleaning supplies.
“It’s an effort to help customers so they don’t need to go to the dollar store or stop somewhere else,” said Babu Anne.
Arch Street Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
