NEWINGTON - David Johnson and his team of agents have been providing Connecticut residents with affordable insurance options since 2005.

Johnson’s GEICO local office, located at 2315 Berlin Turnpike, offers insurance coverage for automobiles, homeowners, renters, motorcycles, mobile homes, collector cars, life, condos, ATV’s, umbrella, personal watercraft and identity theft protection.

David Johnson has owned his GEICO local office since 2005 and said GEICO gets its competitive edge “by making sure that we have the right staff to take care of the customer’s calling – providing 24/7 access to the company and resolving policy and service claims in an exceptional way.”

Some of the ways David has made his local office more accessible include extending the hours of operation and adding to his staff. The office now has a sizable team of licensed agents available to answer questions, set up new policies or make changes to existing ones.

“Our staff has grown as business has grown, and we want to take care of customers immediately when they call,” Johnson said. “We will give them the best policy at the most competitive rate and we will work hard to ensure that we provide excellent service.”

While GEICO may be recognized for selling common types of insurance such as automobile and homeowners, Johnson tells us that boat insurance has become very popular. “GEICO has recently partnered with BoatUS, the nation’s largest recreational boating advocacy, services and safety group,” Johnson said. “BoatUS is the leading provider of 24/7 on-the-water towing and roadside assistance for boat owners.”

When customers purchase boat insurance, they not only get a comprehensive insurance policy, but also qualify for discounted BoatUS memberships. “It’s a complete policy that offers coverage for your boat, engines and equipment, liability limits to protect your assets, over $900,000 on fuel spillage coverage, personal effects coverage as well as a discount on a BoatUS membership,” Johnson noted. “For avid boaters, it’s well worth the investment.”

In keeping with GEICO’s commitment to remain customer centric, the company provides online services along with a smartphone application that handles a wide variety of customer services such as requesting roadside assistance, reporting a claim or making payments. The GEICO Mobile App also allows customers to show proof of insurance and conveniently make policy changes right from their mobile phone. Johnson believes that these benefits along with quick turnarounds are what keep customers coming back.

While he always remains humble, Johnson is also a strong advocate for community involvement. He has sponsored Motorcycle Madness and Newington Midget Football and has also volunteered his time coaching baseball. He is also a member of the Rotary and Newington Chamber.

“When I opened my doors, GEICO encouraged me to get out into the community and make connections; being a part of the Chamber has helped me do that,” Johnson says.

On August 15, Johnson’s GEICO local office will celebrate 14 years working in Newington providing Greater Hartford and Connecticut drivers with reliable and expedient service. Although GEICO is already the largest auto insurer in Connecticut, Johnson believes the company will continue to grow by reputation and word of mouth. He considers it great service for a great price.

“My staff and I are ready to help you with all your insurance needs, and we look forward to building a longstanding relationship with our customers so we can continue to assist them as their insurance needs change over time,” Johnson noted.
