NEW BRITAIN – If you are looking for a full service, experienced eye-care provider, then look no further than Stepensky’s Opticians. The business was founded by Victor Stepensky Sr. in 1929 and has provided quality eyewear throughout its long history. The tradition is continued today by his son and grandson, John Stepensky Sr. L.O. and John Stepensky Jr. L.O.

Stepenksy’s Opticians carries over 1,600 eyeglass frames in stock and has a complete finishing lab. They have used their own lab to craft eyewear ever since their founding. Most single vision eyeglasses are finished next day, and most broken eyewear can be brought in and repaired same day. They also carry a large variety of fashion eyewear and sunwear, including brands such as Prada, MODO, Costa, Fysh, Kate Spade, Versace, Lafont, RayBan, Oakley, Burberry, Juicy Couture, Polo Ralph Lauren, Maui Jim, Banana Republic, Tory Burch, Dolce & Gabbana, Etnia Barcelona, and others.

Additionally, Stepensky’s fits all types of contact lenses including Spherical, Toric (to correct Astigmatism), Bifocal and Gas Permeable.

John Stepensky Sr. took over the business in 1962 and his son, Stepensky Jr., has been a practicing optician for 35 years. He always thought he would have a hand in the family business. During college, he would sometimes come home to work in the office on weekends.

As an independent business, they are able to give the personalized care their clients deserve. They take the time to select the correct eyewear to fit your needs, understanding the importance of quality customer service. They carry all types of lens brands and have an almost perfect success rate fitting progressive lenses such as Varilux.

At Stepensky’s, clients can choose eyeglasses from all different price points with the help of experienced, licensed opticians.

“We just do it right.” Stepensky Jr. said.

Stepensky’s is located at 513 South Main Street in New Britain.
