Always There Home Care in Plainville, a private duty home care agency, sets itself apart with the level of personalized, compassionate care it provides anytime it is needed.
Always There Home Care has served the community for 14 years. The company provides clients with professional nurse-supervised care in their homes or in facilities seven days a week from four hours to 24 hours a day. The company is licensed to provide services to families throughout Connecticut.
Owner Regina McNamara has an MSN in Community Health Nursing from Yale and an MPH in Health Administration from Yale, making Always There Home Care one of the few private home care companies that is nurse-owned.
“We are always seeking ways to improve and enrich clients’ lives, encouraging our caregivers to learn, develop new skills, and continue their education… We are always open. We are always there,” McNamara said.
Home health and hospice agencies mainly provide private duty services, but also partners with Medicare-certified agencies to provide the optimal plans of care for their clients. Medicare-certified home care consists of services that Medicare covers, such as in-home nursing care and physical and occupational therapy. Private duty home care encompasses those services that Medicare does not cover, such as bathing, assistance with mobility and meal preparation.
Always There Home Care’s services are focused on compassion, both for their clients and their clients’ families. Their caregivers provide companionship, competent care and open communication to clients and families, as well as pet therapy.
“Chronic or acute illness can result in daunting, challenging times for the client as well as the family members and friends,” McNamara said. “Always There caregivers as well as company leadership are available to discuss any troubling issues at any time.”
When a family member contacts Always There Home Care seeking care, the company does a free of charge assessment visit with McNamara and their Scheduling/Recruitment Coordinator Candy Francis. During this visit, they assess the client’s medical and non-medical needs such as necessary safety measures, nutritional status, personality and the level of help needed in all daily activities. McNamara and Francis then determine which of their caregivers will best meet the clients’ needs.
Always There Home Care provided services throughout the entirety of the pandemic and continues to take precautions. PPE is provided to all clients and stock is maintained through the entire care period.
The company also maintained their caregivers throughout the pandemic, so while many other companies are short-staffed, Always There Home Care has many staff members available to take on new clients.
