SUGAR LAND - The New Britain Bees’ losing streak is now up to six, as they lost the second game of the series to the Sugar Land Skeeters in extra innings on Saturday night.

Chris Hayes, who came on to pitch the bottom of the 10th inning, allowed the game-winning run on a walk-off single by Joe Benson, which allowed Travis Scott to score.

The Bees scored their two runs early in the game on two solo home runs. Catcher James Skelton led off the game with a blast and Michael Crouse added a solo shot of his own in the third, but that would end the scoring for New Britain.

Eric Fornataro had his best start of the season, as he allowed just two runs in 5 1/3 innings of work, while striking out four, but he could not hold the lead on two separate occasions.

Brandon Fry threw three innings of scoreless ball in relief to help get the game into extra innings.

The third game of the series with the Skeeters will be Sunday at 3:05.
