Maddox two-run single caps winning rally as New Britain Bees defeat York Revolution

YORK, Pa. - Craig Maddox hit a two-run single with two out in the top of the eighth inning to put New Britain ahead, and the Bees held on in the ninth inning for a 7-6 victory on the road over the York Revolution on Sunday afternoon.

Maddox also had a sacrifice fly to plate a run in the first inning as the Bees took an early 2-0 lead, then added an RBI single in the second inning that put New Britain ahead 5-0 early. He went 2-for-3 with a walk and four RBI in the game.

Brandon League came into the game with two out in the bottom of the seventh and pitched through the eighth inning, allowing two hits and a walk but no runs to earn his first victory in the Atlantic League.

York, which scored twice in the fifth inning and three times in the seventh to tie the game, managed to rally for a run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, but could not get the tying run again.

Jovan Rosa (1-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI) has recorded a hit in 11 straight games.
