NEW BRITAIN - With a disappointing start from starting pitcher Kyle Simon, Jonathan Griffin and Craig Maddox did their part to try for the New Britain Bees to walk away with a victory.

However, Shawn Gilblair blew the save in the ninth inning, leading to a 11-10 win for the Lancaster Barnstormers on Wednesday.

Griffin’s three-run triple in the bottom of the eighth inning was a game changer for the Bees, putting them ahead 10-9. He finished 2-for-4 with three runs driven in.

But Lancaster got a two-out, two-run single from Darian Sandford in the top of the ninth inning to re-take the lead.

Craig Maddox drove in four runs for New Britain in the game. He had a two-run double and a two-run single. Maddox finished with three hits.

Kyle Simon threw six innings for the New Britain Bees, allowing eight earned runs on nine hits and four walks.
