The Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA is celebrating its first year as a tri-community entity tonight in Meriden.
The YMCA is hosting “A Midsummer’s Night” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the YMCA Mountain Mist Outdoor Center in Meriden. The event is to celebrate the formation of the tri-community organization and also to honor its employees, volunteers and community supporters.
The YMCA will hand out several awards.
Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YWCA Educational Award recipients are: Samantha Jo Gansley, Beky Henderson, Calvin Hernandez, Kimberly Irizarry, Agnieszka Kuzio, Sharlene LaBissoniere, Sage Maier, Diana Malik, Chantel Martin, Esmeralda O’Farrill, Anna Pasquence and Kendra Pulaski.
The New Britain-Berlin YMCA will present New Britain Police Officer Wojtek Sztachelski with the Archie Savage Social Responsibility Award. The Berlin school system will be awarded the Ron Brooks Youth Development Award and Bob Smilnak will receive the Healthy Living Award.
