NEW BRITAIN - The Parks and Recreation Department’s summer piano and voice lessons program is returning today.

Through Aug. 8, New Britain residents and nonresidents will get a chance to hone their vocal and keyboard skills.

Classes run at different times from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at City Hall. The cost for the entire session is $130 for eight half-hour lessons.

The Parks, Recreation, & Community Services Department also offers a short session in the month of September, a fall session from October to December, a winter session from January to March and a spring session from April to May.

All lessons are taught by Doug Duca, who also does work at a few churches in the area.

According to the parks department, Duca has extensive knowledge in the music field and can tailor the program to fit the participant’s needs and areas of interest.

Registrations can be dropped off at or sent to the Parks and Recreation office in Room 302 of City Hall, 27 W. Main St. They can also be submitted online at www.nbparksnrec.org .

The department can be reached at 860-826-3360.
