NEW BRITAIN – Traffic was stalled on Chestnut Street Tuesday evening as police and firefighters dealt with a roll over crash that caused one car to land on its side across the railroad tracks against a train signal post.

The rollover was part of a two-car crash that occurred at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Columbus Boulevard at about 6:45 p.m.

It is unclear if anyone was injured. One ambulance left the scene without transporting anyone. Police cruisers and fire engines blocked the intersection from traffic on all four sides as firefighters tried to determine how to get the car away from the signal post and on all four tires for a waiting flat-bed tow truck.
